What inspired you to do this work?

When I was 14 years old, I received Linda Goodman’s Sun Signs. After wondering how this woman perfectly described me without knowing me, I knew there was definitely a valid science to astrology, which I did not understand. From then on my curiosity overwhelmed me. I attended all of the classes I could, including going to adult education classes even though I was not of age. I met a wonderful astrologer, Freda Flood, who became like a surrogate Mother to me. I studied with her for many years and at the age of 22, she asked if I wanted to take over one of her astrology classes. After that, I was guided to teach at more schools, lectured for free at local libraries and then at various spiritual, holistic and metaphysical psychic fairs and events. Eventually I taught on cruise lines and in Australia, Canada and the Caribbean.

I then tried to learn tarot from various instructors and didn’t find one that felt right until I took a course with Harriet Wagniere, the Director of the Metaphysical Center of New Jersey. I liked the way she taught tarot and felt comfortable with her meanings and intent. I am now one of the certified teachers of the Metaphysical Center of New Jersey as well as a Board member (for over 25 years).

About 10 years later, I was guided to rewrite many of the meanings of the cards with the help of my angel and my book, “Totally Tarot: How To Be A Tarot Detective,” was published in 2001. I am currently writing a second book called, "Totally Tarot Two: Your Karmic Lessons," which should be finished in 2005.

Originally, it used to take approximately 10 years to learn tarot with all the intricacies involved in this modality. I can teach tarot now in approximately 18-20 hours and with additional practice, everyone can do accurate tarot readings for friends and family or as a professional reader.

It was then an easy transition to get involved in numerology and have had several years of teaching palmistry and graphology, but the most important healing modalities that I use are tarot and astrological predictive work.

I also became a certified hypnotherapist through the tutelage of Ida Diaz and learned how to help people on a deeper level. I also do past life regressions as well as hypnosis for fears, phobias, smoking, weight, etc. I am currently studying advanced dowsing with Ida and will get certified in Reiki and advanced Light Therapy from her this year.

I plan to be certified in Feng Shui in the fall with Helen and James Jay of Feng Shui Designs in California.

All the modalities are linked in some way and most have the same positive truth and the highest good intent. It was an easy transition to become a crystal therapist, interfaith minister, certified hypnotherapist – these are all linked to tarot, astrology and numerology as they all aid in a person’s ability to control their life and to make positive decisions about the future.

Were you always naturally intuitive?

I believe, as far back as I can remember I was always intuitive although I didn’t understand it at the time. I used to know who was calling on the telephone or had a sixth sense about not going down certain roads because of delays or accidents. I remember in an astrology class once, the whole class insisted that the practice chart we delineated had been a tragic accident, but intuitively I felt they were all wrong. I was only 18 at the time and most were advanced astrologers, but I held my ground. I wound up being the only one with the right conclusion in class, that the person was going to give birth within a short period of time (which could seem tragic from the mother's point of view, I suppose!) and Freda was impressed and delighted that I was right.

I had a real awakening when my angel started talking to me in my early teens. Of course, one didn’t mention that back in the early 1960’s, but it was always a comforting voice that I knew was guiding me for my highest good. I was never afraid and just knew it was something to help promote my metaphysics studies.

Do you combine the different modalities when working with a client?

Yes, I do combine tarot, astrology and numerology when working with students or clients. I feel that each modality is like a jigsaw puzzle and together, the puzzle is finally complete. If clients need specific time frames or a more detailed answer than astrology or numerology can provide, I always consult the tarot cards. I never let a client leave until all of their questions are satisfactorily answered. All the modalities combined helps me accomplish this. What is really interesting about these modalities is that all confirm each other but give different insight into the same issues, concerns or lessons.

Share some success stories of clients who have come to see you?

One of the nice things about my work is that I get to assist people by giving them many choices about their future, job, relationship, etc. There are so many examples of people calling me back to verify what I have told them and it makes my work worthwhile. (I also tape my readings so that the client/student can actually pay attention to the reading and not have to take notes.) Be weary of those who will not allow you to tape a reading as they may have something to hide.

I would say about 90% of all my students have gone on to read tarot professionally and about 25% have started teaching my intuitive way of reading tarot. Even though it is a new perspective on the cards, it is being very well received.

I have helped women empower themselves enough to get out of abusive and addictive relationships. There have also been many occasions where I have watched couples in tears when they found out they were going to be able to conceive a child after years of planning and infertility clinics. I usually get a card or an email when the babies are born, and that makes me feel very gratified that I gave them comfort in some small way by letting them know that their dreams were going to come true. I have helped students/clients find the courage and give them alternatives to find other jobs. Even though they were so unhappy in their current position, they did not have the courage or strength to leave, but knowing that more opportunities were in the near future or that financial issues would be secure gave them the confidence to find other employment. They did not have to continue to dread going to work every day any longer. I have also answered many relationship questions about the current significant other being the right partner or not; many have changed their wedding dates, christening/welcoming ceremony dates, operation dates, parties and travel plans according to astrology and when the favorable aspects occurred in their particular chart.

Another important part of my success stories is that I have helped many people who have been taken advantage of by charlatans and had spent anywhere from $7,000 - $20,000 to have curses removed from them. Of course, by the time they came to me they didn’t have money to pay me for my services, but that was okay. I was there to help. I taught them that it was only their belief in the curse that made it work; I told them that no one was praying for them and who could pray better for you than yourself. Lighting candles seems to be a very profitable scam as well for anywhere from $50-$500 per candle. My advice is buy your own candles, go to church/temple to light a candle and pray for yourself while you are visiting your house of worship. I am such an advocate for honest and ethical readers that these charlatans really upset me.

What was funny to me was that when I asked the woman who paid a charlatan $20,000 (the last of her money from the sale of her house before claiming bankruptcy) for the same amount for my services, she laughed. I looked at her and asked why she was laughing and she replied, “Well, $20,000 is a ridiculous amount of money to pay for a reading.” I replied, “Yes, isn’t it? But why did you pay it to the other reader and not me?” She looked very seriously at me and answered, “Well, she scared me and you didn’t.” If someone scares you, stay away from them!

Why would you recommend anyone study tarot, astrology or numerology?

These modalities help a student understand who they are from an unbiased source and it is quite revealing. Tarot, astrology and numerology are useful tools, which allow people to take positive control of his/her life and to make appropriate decisions for their best interest. It gives one confidence and allows individuals to plan for positive and negative events and then they can take steps to change things for the optimum outcome. Remember, that with all of the facts before you, it is up to you to change your future or keep it as it is. Free will is a God (Goddess) given right and we should exercise it whenever possible. It is our life and we should have all the information needed to make good decisions. These modalities will indicate when there is stress, sickness, happy times, financial gain or loss (or concern), job, travel and educational opportunities or pitfalls, etc. With this information, you can manage your life much better than going through it with eyes closed.

What are your plans for the future?

Within the next few years, I would like to open a spiritual and healing center where I will bring in teachers from a myriad of modalities. That is one of the reasons I am getting certified in so many modalities so I will be sure that the people I hire are ethical and knowledgeable practitioners in their fields. I plan to have workshops, hands on classes, lectures, seminars and perhaps even a small metaphysical shop. It is just a dream for now, but one that I hope will come true within my planned time frame.

Also, I hope to work on CD's and DVD's of all of my classes so that everyone can learn from their computer or television without having to go out to a class. Hopefully, this will be accomplished by the fall.
