Q:
Can you tell us about your background and experience with
natural healing?
Jeff: I originally started with a degree in Biochemistry, with the
intention of working in a lab making medicine. I soon realized that
there was no intention of finding cures for anything, and became
quite disillusioned.
I began studying nutrition on my own, then went to The School of
Natural Healing for a masters in herbology.
Q: What happened from there?
Jeff: After graduating, I studied to become a biofeedback
technician. I found an amazing device called The Discovery System,
an electro-dermal unit capable of locating 12,000 individual
imbalances. Since 1992 I have worked with thousands of people
helping them determine what their weaknesses are, then creating a
program to create balance and health. I use herbal formulas,
homeopathics, as well as vitamin therapy to provide a unique program
for each of my clients. I also can discuss diet and nutrition when
that is relevant.
Q: I see you have also added another
healing modality to your clinic?
Jeff: Yes, I began searching for something that could truly make a
difference for people suffering from ADD and ADHD. I was not
satisfied with the results I was seeing, plus I had a new step-son
that was suffering from ADHD, so I needed a solution. I learned
about Neurofeedback, and went to the training to become a
technician.
Q: What type of conditions does
Neurofeedback address?.
Jeff: Neurofeedback addresses problems of brain dis-regulation.
These happen to be numerous. They include the anxiety-depression
spectrum, attention deficits, behavior disorders, various sleep
disorders, headaches, migraines, PMS, and emotional disturbances. It
is also useful for organic brain conditions such as seizures, the
autism spectrum, and cerebral palsy.
Q: How does Neurofeedback work?
Jeff: Neurofeedback is direct training of brain function, by which
the brain learns to function more efficiently. We observe the brain
in action from moment to moment. We show that information back to
the person and we reward the brain for changing its own activity to
more appropriate patterns. This is a gradual learning process. It
applies to any aspect of brain function that we can measure.
Neurofeedback is also called EEG biofeedback, because it is based on
electrical brain activity, the electroencephalogram, or EEG.
Q: Tell us about your website and the
unique service that you are currently offering.
Jeff: I created a website initially just to educate my clients. I
believe that you should know what you are putting into your body and
what it is meant to do. I began offering a free consultation to
assist people in determining which supplements will help them the
most with their individual concerns.
This has become quite popular, as many people really don't know
where to begin and there is so much trial and error. This helps take
much of the guess work out for them, and points them in a positive
direction for their better health.
Q: As far as seeing you in person, where
are you located?
Jeff: My current office is in Newbury Park, CA, near Thousand Oaks.
I will soon be opening an office in Colorado Springs and working
part of the month at each location. For more information you can
reach me toll free at 877-herbs 57, or through my website at
