Scott Gerson, M.D., Ph.D. (Ayurveda), founder of The National Institute Of Ayurvedic Medicine in 1982, is the only Ayurvedic physician in the United States who is a professor of both Ayurveda and conventional medicine. Our services include: 1. Comprehensive Medical Evaluations including: Ayurveda, Internal Medicine, and modern laboratory and other testing , if necessary. 2. Panchakarma Treatments, both outpatient and residential. Dr. Gerson is a professor and has a Ph.D. from University of Pune in this field. 3. Ayurvedic medicines and supplies at wholesale prices. Some are grown by NIAM, others harvested in India every six months. 4. Correspondence Course in Ayurvedic Medicine authored by a panel of Ayurvedic professors from academies throughout India. 5. Seminars and workshops throughout the year on: Ayurevedic cooking, massage, herbs, Sanskrit, Women's Health, Spa training, and more.

Philosophy

Scott Gerson, M.D., Ph.D. (Ayu) has been in clinical practice of Ayurvedic Medicine for over twenty years and is an associate professor at the University of Pune. He is also a clinical assistant professor at New York Medical College in the Faculty of Preventive Medicine and specializes in diagnostically difficult conditions. Beyond the herbs and physical therapies of Ayurveda, Dr. Gerson incorporates the behavioral and consciousness-raising principles of Yoga in his practice.

Additional Notes

The National Institue Of Ayurvedic Medicine also runs a research laboratory and clinical research division exclusively focused on Ayurvedic Medicine. Although we are primarily a medical clinic specializing in difficult diagnosis, we devote much of our energies to contributing to the scientific bedrock of Ayurveda.
