We offer the Day Massage Therapy program three times a year, in January, May and September. This course began in 1982 and is constantly updated to employ new modalities, techniques of training and learning materials. The training program lasts 42 weeks and you will be in classes 20-25 hours a week. You will learn fundamental techniques in a classroom setting and also by practicing in a supervised and supportive environment. Your coursework in Anatomy and Physiology will give you a solid foundation in understanding the structure, function and health of the human body. We also provide training in body mechanics and self-care so that you can enjoy a healthy career. Coursework in communications, business, ethics, entrepreneurship, massage therapy, wellness and movement create a fully integrated educational program. In Tucson, Massage Therapy treatments are $50-85 per hour in the private sector. A full-time practitioner averages 25 treatments per week. Graduates who are interested in employing others can expand to several locations, adding products and other treatments to their business for additional earnings. Graduates in spas and clinics can expect to earn $27-36 per hour for full-time work, depending on location, at 25-32 treatments a week, not including gratuities.
