CMT150 COURSE DESCRIPTION:
INTRODUCTIONS & HISTORY OF MASSAGE
Massage therapy is an ancient healing art. This class focuses on the power of touch, how massage affects mind, body & spirit, helps to facilitate the body's healing process and the indication and contraindications for massage.
ANATOMY & PHYSIOLOGY
A basic knowledge of anatomy and physiology is a necessary requisite in learning the theory and practice of therapeutic massage. Students study the structure and functions of the human body in order to know when, where, and how to apply massage movements for the most beneficial results. These classes are presented in a way that makes it easy and fun for the student to learn.
SWEDISH MASSAGE
This practical training emphasis is the 55-minute, full-body Swedish massage routine. The five basic Swedish strokes are taught: effleurage, petrissage, friction, vibration and percussion, and their variations.
AROMATHERAPY/AROMATHERAPY PRESSURE MASSAGE
Aromatherapy, in common with all holistic therapies, seeks to strengthen the body's own innate, self-healing ability. The basics of aromatherapy, the different types of essential oils, carrier oils and how they can be used in massage are discussed. Also included is an introduction to Aromatherapy Pressure Massage using essential oils on special points on the body to release muscular tensions and emotional blocks.
BREATH AWARENESS/ MOVEMENT
Life enhancing breath techniques and guided dialogue expand your capacity for freedom, power, and joy. Movement awareness gives you a conscious experience of lasting ease and relaxation in your body. Breath Awareness and Body Movement are necessary components of deep tissue work and act as an introduction to Hellerwork.
BUSINESS PRACTICES, MARKETING & ETHICS
This course gives students the skills needed to begin and promote a successful massage practice. Just some of the subjects discussed: business cards, licensing, places of possible employment, types of clients you would like to work on and much more. This is the class where all your questions get answered.
CHAIR MASSAGE
Basic techniques of chair massage and a "15 minute" chair massage routine is demonstrated and practiced. Chair ma

Allow me to introduce myself...
My name is Camille Sandroni and I am the owner and director of Hands on Healing Institute. I believe that more and more of us are becoming interested in spirituality and are searching for different ways to bring peace, compassion, understanding and tranquility into our lives and those of others. This great new millenium is the time.
My Dad was a doctor of western medicine who treated his patients with a holistic approach. Listening to him talk about his patients was my first lesson in how you should treat the whole person, mind, body, and spirit. I experienced another strong lesson a few years ago. I suffered a great loss and was having a very hard time. I learned first hand how massage therapy can help in the healing process; not just with physical injuries but also with injuries to the mind and spirit.
My healing experience is the reason I have opened Hands on Healing Institute. My goal is to help you learn how to help others through massage therapy.

Massage therapy is a wonderful occupation. There are so very many things that our hands enable us to do but none as important than the ability to touch one another. We all have a purpose in life... a unique gift or special talent. When we blend this unique talent with service to others, we experience the exhilaration of our own spirit.
Becoming a massage therapist is a great opportunity, one that enables you to have a profession that benefits both you and others. Something you can be proud of.
We have wonderful teachers who want to share their knowledge and spirit with you. Come join our massage family and learn how to use your hands help others in easing stress, pain and creating well being.
