Basic Information,

Basic Information
– Simplifies aromatherapy; covers history;
contraindications, benefits; an overview of
several oils, and more. No pre-requisite

Utilizing Oils in First Aid
– A kit of 5 essential oils which can be used
safely for first aid in the home, or personal
first aid will be available for an additional
fee. The uses for these oils are discussed
including their benefits, application and
contraindications. A First Aid chart is

Take-Home Spa Product
– You will make some bath salts and/or bath oil
to take home with you. During the evening you
will learn simple blending techniques, logic
behind blending, caution and contraindications,
the difference between various carriers. You
will create a blend for personal use in your
product. Supplies are extra. No pre-requisite

Auricular Therapy
– also known as “ear coning” – this is a much
more intensive, thorough course

In this
60 hour
certificate course,
you will learn the difference between “ear
coning” and “ear candling”; anatomy and
physiology of the human ear; safety; cautions
and contraindications; benefits; balancing;
energy fields, chakras; ethics and intent;
testing; techniques; theory and lab sessions;
apply theoretical and practical skills to
clinical experience. Satisfactory completion of
case studies, a written and practical exam,
mandatory kit are required for certification. No

Basic Business
Practices
Learn the very
basics of how to set up a holistic practice. We
briefly discuss ethics, intent and compassion;
PIPED Act, privacy and confidentiality;
client/practitioner relationships; balance
between work and personal life relevant to
holistic practitioners. We delve into basic
business set-up: where, how and if to register
your business; taxes; develop both a strategic
and a business plan; discuss daily planning;
target markets, networks, start-up costs,
expenses, budgeting, income and expense
forecasts; business and practice insurance. You
will receive hand-outs to guide you in the
process and in-class guidance on your
theoretical business plan development.

Emotional Freedom
Technique -- Introduction

EFT is a rapidly
growing personal improvement technique that
utilizes new discoveries regarding the body's
energy system. Negative emotion, belief,
traumatic memory act like a blockage to the
energy flow resulting in emotional and physical
pain. EFT is like using "delete" on your
system, quickly and permanently removing
unwanted negative emotions. Now peace,
confidence and increased personal power are able
to manifest results in your life. This

We, at
ACADEMY of HOLISTIC MODALITIESÒ,
are well aware there are several other courses
with similar names available on the market today
and it can be difficult as a student to decide
which one to take. Whenever choosing between
similar courses, contact the instructor and find
out what is included: how much is theory, how
much is hands-on, the goals and outcomes of the
workshop, certification process, length of
workshop. Is it simply “technical” or is it from
a “holistic” point of view? Are there added
benefits such as: CECs or CEUs, eligibility for
insurance coverage, membership in professional
associations, links on website, newsletters,
etc. Upon consideration of all of the above and
more, including value for your money, you will
be able to make an informed decision. At
ACADEMY of HOLISTIC MODALITIESÒ,
we are more than happy to answer your questions

Our
program is 75 hours for a reason
– we want our students to feel confident and
comfortable upon graduation; to be able to
competently and professionally work with
their clients in a holistic manner; and, of
course, to be pleased to recommend our
workshops to others. We are professionals
providing professional level education to
practitioners. We treat every aspect of our
Relaxational Heated Stone Massage Program
seriously including intensive course content
(both theoretical and hands-on), continued
support for students, continuing education
following certification and examinations.
The most comprehensive method of examination
is to provide both a theoretical and
practical component of proficiency. This
acknowledgement of achievement gives
students credibility and a sense of
confidence for their future clientele. We
keep in contact with all our students,
especially our graduates through
newsletters, emails, phone calls, stopping
by, exchanging sessions and our website.
This 75
hour certificate program (upon
completion of Modules 1, 2 and Certificate
of Proficiency) written and taught by Niki
and Sue differs from others available
because of its focus on the integration
of intent, compassion and holistic approach
to the modality. Our classes are
intentionally small: Module 1 is limited
to six students; Module 2 to four students.
Our goal is to maximize theoretical and
hands-on experience within a reasonable
timeframe. Exams are limited to 2 students
per session to allow personalized attention
to detail and to support our students.
Module 1
– Learn the very basic foundations for
relaxational heated stone massage including
draping, massage techniques, anatomy and
physiology, ethics and more. This workshop is
the first step to certification through AHM.
Upon completion of module, you will receive a
“certificate of attendance”.

Module 2
– Builds on the foundations learned in Module 1,
adding more intensive information in each area;
introduction to business; ethics; affects of
massage on various body systems; additional
massage techniques; additional anatomy and
physiology; basic energy, healing and chakra
concepts; increasing your confidence and
capability; incorporating more techniques and
hands-on practice. Upon completion of module,
you will receive a “certificate of attendance”.

Certificate of Proficiency
– After completion of Modules 1 and 2, students
are required to complete 25 case studies (within
a 6 month timeframe) and complete both a written
and practical exam. It is anticipated that all
students will have or will take an authorized
first aid/CPR certification course.
Upon satisfactory completion of
the above (75 hour program), a numbered
“certificate of proficiency” is issued by AHM.
Graduates of the program are also
rewarded in a graduation ceremony.
All graduates’ names will be listed in our
newsletters and on our website for referrals and
to enhance their credibility.

Advanced Heated Stone
– This new interest course will start in the
late fall. Students must have their
Relaxational Heated Stone Massage “Certificate
of Proficiency” to participate in this
workshop. It will incorporate more hands-on
techniques, alternative draping, lymph drainage,
spa techniques and more. A separate certificate
is issued upon satisfactory completion of this
course including hands-on and written portions.

Ethics for
Practitioners
– certificate issued
This certificate course delves much more
deeply into ethics, compassion and the
responsibility of touch than can be covered
in other workshops. This is such an
important subject for practitioners. Upon
completion of this workshop, AHM issues a
certificate to add to your credibility as a
holistic practitioner. Reference notes are
included.
Feng Shui
-- Introduction
This short
course introduces the student to the very
basic concepts of Feng Shui and its
practical utilization in everyday life.
Feng Shui is an ancient oriental practice of
specifically placing objects for harmonious
energy flow. Ample time is given for
student questions and discussion. -- $35
Gemstones for
Healing
This short personal interest workshop is a
fantastic aid to other modalities to speed
the healing process. Learn the properties
of specific gemstones and their healing
benefits. You will also learn various
patterns and specific layouts for healing
with gemstones. Gemstone kit and manual are

Gemstones and
Crystals
– Introduction
This personal
interest workshop is meant as a simple
introduction to a sampling of gemstones and
crystals, vibrations, properties,
applications and how they interconnect with
other healing modalities. Crystals,
gemstones and manual are available for an

Go Within or Go
Without
Everyone
manifests every day although we are not always
consciously aware of it. In this introductory
session we look at the “possibility” of thinking
differently than we do now. It is possible to
manifest our desires. In this personal interest
workshop, we discuss the importance of being
grateful, intent, belief patterns, living
thoughts, vibrations, simple practice techniques
and start to build a dream collage.

This is an
excellent opportunity for anyone to learn
how to apply the benefits of heated stone
massage in a workshop setting (full day or 2
evenings). Basic concepts, benefits and

as well. There is ample time for hands-on.

Reiki – Levels I &
II, Advanced and Master
Reiki is a
Japanese word for “universal life energy”
and is a hands-on healing technique. We
currently teach the Usui and Shinju Pa Ro
methods at AHM. Although “universal life
energy” (chi, ki, prana…) is readily
available to everyone who wishes to tap into
it, it is said that this focused energy
healing technique can only be channeled by
someone who has been attuned to it. The
attunement process itself is a powerful
healing experience. Reference notes are
included at all levels.
Level I
– An introduction to Reiki, its history,
methodology, healing meditations, chakra system,
basic anatomy, about attunements, effects of
Reiki and hand positions. --$145
Level II
– This includes preparation and initiation for
the Level II degree; symbols, distance healing
techniques, Reiki and aromatherapy, clearing of
aura, and beaming energy. Discuss experiences.
Pre-requisite: Level I --$185
Advanced
-- Builds on the existing foundations; more
symbols and meanings; psychic energy work,
healing power of crystals, develop intuition and
energy reading skills to a higher level; develop
more personal style. Certification at this
level is required to advance to Master level.
Pre-requisite: Levels I & II
Master and Master/Teacher
– Master level is really mastery of oneself.
Certification at a master level allows the
student the privilege of teaching others and
providing attunements should they choose. Some
of us
choose to be master for only ourselves.
For those who chose to teach, there are
additional symbols, attunements and training.

Reiki with Heated
Stones
This stand-alone certificate course is geared to
certified Reiki practitioners desiring to
enhance their modality. The use of heated
stones during a Reiki session provides a deeper
connection to mother earth through vibrational
levels. The heat and the moisture of the stones
are also very soothing for the client.

Stone Massage for
Face, Neck and Shoulders
This
stand-alone course may be taken for personal
interest only or to enhance your skills as a
Relaxational Heated Stone Massage (or other
modality) Practitioner. The warm and cool
stones are incorporated into this soothing,
relaxing and grounding technique. Stone
kits and manuals are available for an
additional fee. Pre-requisite: individual
permission of instructor; some massage
experience required.
Therapeutic Touch
– Levels 1, 2 and 3
This non-invasive
healing technique is now being taught in nursing
schools internationally and has been used in
hospitals for some time. It focuses on intent,
compassion and allowing the client to receive
the amount of healing they choose at that time.
Participants in each workshop will receive a
certificate of participation upon completion of
each level. These certificates are recognized
by the Therapeutic Touch Network of Ontario
(TTNO).

Level 1 --
this workshop encompasses the basic theory of
Therapeutic Touch (TT) and extensive classroom
practice. At the end of the workshop,
participants will be able to give a basic TT
treatment and will receive a "certificate of

this workshop deepens the Therapeutic Touch (TT)
experience. Participants will be working with
colour and imagery as they practice modulating
energy. They will also work with a TT partner.

continues to deepen the Therapeutic Touch
experience even further. Participants will
explore emotional fields both as the recipient
and the practitioner. Introduction to the

TTNO.
Thinking About
Starting a Private Practice?
Learn the
foundation of how to set up a holistic
practice. We discuss ethics, intent and
